Youth-Led Organization

Osteoarthritis doesn't wait for old age. Neither do we.

Overcome OA is a student-run organization raising awareness about osteoarthritis, breaking down the misconceptions around it, and building a more informed, compassionate community.

Who We Are

A youth-led effort for anyone touched by osteoarthritis.

We're a youth-led organization dedicated to raising awareness about osteoarthritis (OA), while working toward a more informed and compassionate community around how it's perceived and addressed.

Through educational content, community outreach, and partnerships with like-minded organizations, we help people gain knowledge, challenge misconceptions, and give voice to those living with OA, at any age.

We serve people living with OA, their families, and anyone who wants to understand joint health better, from students to community members and healthcare advocates.

Myth or Fact

A taste of the education we share every week.

The same myth-busting our community sees on Instagram.

Myth or Fact
"OA only affects older people."
Myth. Sports injuries, repetitive strain, and genetics can bring on OA decades earlier. Age raises the risk, it doesn't cause it alone.

Myth or Fact
"Cracking your joints causes OA."
Myth. Research hasn't found a link between joint cracking and osteoarthritis. Cartilage wear has other, more direct causes.

Myth or Fact
"Nothing can be done to manage OA."
Myth. Early awareness, movement, and the right support can meaningfully change how OA progresses and how it feels day to day.
